On December 31, 2022, Jerry retired from a 35-year career in law enforcement, which included 18 years of command level experience, and over seven years as Chief Executive of Maryland’s two largest police departments. In November of 2015, Jerry was appointed as the Chief of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police. In 2020, he was named as the 20th Superintendent of the Maryland State Police, becoming the only Superintendent in the 102-year history of the Department to have ascended through every rank in the Department after beginning his career as a Cadet. While serving as Superintendent, Jerry served concurrently as a Cabinet Secretary for Governor Larry Hogan. After a short retirement, Jerry has made the decision to use everything he has learned over the past 35 years to provide guidance and insight for anyone who aspires to be their best.
